Cedar County is going EVERGREEN!!!!!

Cedar County has some super exciting news that will be happening over the next few months.
Cedar County is going EVERGREEN! Our first live date will be November 4th, 2021.
What does this all mean? We feel the most important advantage of participating in Evergreen is that all 54+ libraries share their materials with each other. Some of those participants, we already share materials with – so what’s new? We will be able to view those other libraries’ catalogs as if they were a virtual branch of the Cedar County Library! Our patrons will be able to directly place a hold on the other libraries’ materials. And thanks to the intra-state courier system developed by our State Library, those materials will be distributed to requesting patron’s home library without extra cost within a 1-2 week period. It will seem as if our library collection will grow over 50 times, without spending any additional money!!
This is a beyond exciting adventure for Cedar County, and we encourage you to stop by either branch of the Cedar County Library to find out more. We will have updates online and opportunities for patrons to ask questions as well! Don’t be worried, we will make sure everyone knows how to use this amazing new resource.
Be sure to stop by the El Dorado Springs Picnic next week to find out more, sign up for a library card, or just chat with our library staff!!!
